When the Cascades Inc. maintenance shop was founded in 1977 as Atelier & Magasin, it only employed some 10 people and occupied rather small quarters at the rear of the Head Office building in Kingsey Falls.

In November 1981, both the shop and store moved into a new building nearby. As the number of employees grew, and the division gained importance due to constant technological advances, the building was enlarged three times.

In 1985, the existing 16,300 square feet was expanded by 11,200 square feet, a second enlargement in 1995 increased the total area to 32,300 square feet, and finally, a third enlargement of 16,800 square feet, 35 feet high, in 1998, increased the total area to 49,100 square feet.

Meanwhile in 1990, Atelier & Magasin became Cascades Inc., Services & Achats. Like every business unit in the Cascades Group, Services & Achats is an independent division that covers its costs by selling its services to other Group members.

Today, with over 150 employees who enjoy an excellent reputation among the Cascades Group's numerous clients, Services & Achats can meet the most specialized high-tech needs whether in the area of machinery maintenance or special projects.
